| February 14 | Studio Painting (7 wks) instructor: Gordon Kellenberger (622-3562) Come to the Amana Arts Guild Painting Studio and enjoy the pleasure of exploring and painting your own ideas. A painting class for beginners to experienced painters in any medium: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel or colored pencils. The instructor will take you from whatever level you’re at and help you develop your ideas and skills at your own pace. The class will met on Thursday afternoon’s from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. at the Amana Arts Guild Center in High Amana for 7 weeks, beginning February 14. Participants will need to provide their own supplies. | February 18 | Rug Weaving (5 wks) instructor: Deb Hawkes (622-6588) Come experience the joy of weaving your very own colorful rag rug on a loom. The class includes designing and preparing materials, weaving and finishing. The rug could be useful in your home or it might make a great gift. This activity will be held in the weaving studio located at the Amana Arts Guild Center in High Amana on Monday evenings from 7:00pm - 8:30pm beginning Monday February 18th and continue for 5 sessions. | March 23 | Basket Class (1 day) 9am–3pm instructor: Judy Ehrke (319-929-1048) In this 6 hour class learn the basics of plaited reed weaving with this 17” x 6” x 4.5” reed basket with color. The basket can sit on the center of a dining table and change with the seasons, use for storage or sit on the back of the toilet tank for the extra 3 rolls, wash clothes or bath items, etc. Class will be held at the Amana Arts Guild Center, 1210 G Street, High Amana, IA.
